Have you ever heard of a Clam Pot? This is one of the most delicious recipes I have ever made. It came from a vintage cookbook and it’s perfect for summer.

Ingredients:
  • 3 cans (6.5 ounces each) of minced clams

  • 1-2 blocks of cream cheese at room temperature (if you like a runny dip like mine, use 1 block of cream cheese; if you like a thicker texture, add 2)

  • 2 tbs chopped chives

  • 2 tbs chopped parsley

  • 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

  • 6 drops of hot sauce

  • 1 loaf of sour dough (you can also buy another for more dippers)

Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 350

  • Use a sharp knife to carefully remove the top “lid” of the sour dough and remove the inside leaving a cavity; Set the inside bread and lid aside

  • Drain 2 cans of the clams, and leave the liquid in the third, add to a bowl

  • To the same bowl, add the remaining ingredients; Use a hand mixer to combine

  • Pour dip into the hallowed out sour dough; Cover with the lid and wrap tightly in tin foil

  • Bake for 1 -1.5 hours. You will know when its done when you open the lid and the inside is hot and melted
