Little Lovely Things by Maureen Joyce Connolly

Reading Little Lovely Things, the remarkable debut novel by Maureen Joyce Connolly is similar to being on a really reallllly unnerving roller coaster ride.

Set in the 1990s, the book follows Claire Rawlings – a busy mother of 2 girls. On her way to work one day, Claire leaves the girls in her car as she suddenly gets ill and needs to stop at a gas station restroom. While she is there, the two girls are taken from the car, without a trace.

Throughout the novel, you will experience both the everyday routine of child rearing, then terrifying confusion, the heartbreaking disappearance of two young girls, loss, and finally hope.

For anyone who enjoyed Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell or Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker … This is a must read!
