Nutcracker Pie

This pie tastes like a cross between an under-baked chocolate chip cookie and Milkbar’s signature Crack Pie. It is SO easy to make, and freezes beautifully, making it absolutely perfect to make ahead of the crazy holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of crushed ritz crackers
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1 tbs Khalua

Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 in pie dish; set aside
  • In a large bowl use an electric mixer, beat together the eggs and 3/4 cups of sugar for about 5 minutes until it is pale and frothy
  • Stir in the chocolate chips, walnuts, additional 3/4 cups of sugar, ritz crackers, baking powder, and vanilla
  • Bake the pie for 30 minutes
  • Allow the pie to cool completely; While the pie is cooling, make the Khalua cream by beating together the heavy cream, 1 tbs of sugar, and 1 tbs of Khalua
  • Make sure the pie is completely cooled before topping with the Khalua cream; Spread the cream over the top of the pie and decorate with chocolate shavings and chopped walnuts
  • * NOTE that this pie should be kept in the fridge after serving!
